Sell AI prompts

Sell AI prompts online prompt packs and workflows, delivered after payment, not before.

A prompt pack is the most copyable product on the internet, which is why the prompt marketplaces exist: they hide the text until payment. They also take a share of the sale and own the customer. If you have an audience that trusts your prompts, a checkout on your own site that hides the pack until the card clears does the same job and keeps the whole price.

Overview

EmbPay delivers a prompt pack as a document, a spreadsheet or a private page, released only on a successful payment. Put the checkout on your newsletter, your site or your bio link; the sale settles to your own Stripe account and the pack goes out by email in seconds.

Pricing

How ai prompts are priced in practice.

Small prompt packs sell for a few dollars to the low tens; specialised workflow libraries for a profession, with worked examples and updates, sell in the tens to low hundreds.

The value is in specificity and maintenance, so say which models and tools the pack was tested with and when. A yearly subscription for an updated library fits the subscription option with delivery from a hosted URL you keep current. Because prompts are so easily copied, a short download window and a fair price are the practical protections.

Pricing options that fit

  • One-time — a pack or a library.
  • Subscription — yearly access to an updated library delivered from a hosted URL.
  • Pay-what-you-want with a minimum — for a starter pack offered to a community.

One product can carry up to six pricing options; the buyer chooses at checkout. Full detail in subscriptions, split-pay and pay-what-you-want.

Setup

Selling ai prompts with EmbPay takes three steps.

  1. 1

    Create the product

In the dashboard, add a product with a name, description and price. Choose how it is delivered: upload a file, point to a hosted URL, issue a licence key, or show instructions after purchase.

  2. 2

    Package your ai prompts

Deliver the pack as one file: a PDF or Markdown prompt book with usage notes, a CSV or spreadsheet if buyers want to import into their own tools, and a JSON version if the pack targets a specific tool. Zip them together and upload; EmbPay hosts one file per product up to 500 MB. If the pack lives in a Notion page or a doc you keep updating, use the hosted-URL delivery type so buyers are sent to the current version after paying.

  3. 3

Share the link or embed the checkout

Every product has a hosted page you can link from anywhere, and an embed snippet for your own site. Connect your Stripe account and buyers can pay; until then the page says the product is not on sale yet.

What matters for this product

The parts of EmbPay ai prompts sellers actually use.

Every item here is enforced in code, on the free plan unless it says otherwise.

Hidden until paid

Whether delivered as a file or a hosted URL, the buyer only receives the pack after a successful charge. Nothing is exposed on the product page beyond what you write there.

Updates from a hosted URL

Keep the library in a page you control and deliver the link. New buyers and returning subscribers always land on the current version; you never re-upload.

A short link window

For uploaded packs, set the download link to expire in a few hours so a forwarded link is dead before it spreads. The buyer keeps what they downloaded.

Subscriber self-service

Library subscribers update their card or cancel from the customer hub, reached by email without a password. You are never the bottleneck.

Fees

What a sale costs you: Stripe's fee, and nothing else.

EmbPay platform fee

On every plan, including free. There is no per-sale percentage and no per-order charge anywhere in the payment path.

0%

Stripe processing

Billed by Stripe on your own account, as on any card payment. Usually 2.9% + 30¢ for a US domestic card; other countries differ.

Stripe's rate

Monthly

Free covers two products. Pro adds unlimited products, licence keys and API keys. Neither takes a cut.

$0 or $29

Work out the exact Stripe fee for your country and price with the Stripe fee calculator.

FAQ

Selling ai prompts: the questions we get.

How do I stop buyers leaking the prompts?

You cannot, on any platform; text is copyable the moment it is read. EmbPay hides the pack until payment and expires the download link on your schedule. Pricing fairly and updating often is what keeps buyers buying rather than sharing.

Can I sell prompts as a subscription?

Yes. A monthly or yearly subscription option, delivered as a hosted URL to the current library, works well. Subscribers manage their own renewal and cancellation.

Do buyers need an account?

No. They pay by card and receive the file or the link by email, with a copy in the customer hub they open by email.

Can I give a free sample and upsell?

EmbPay does not sell at zero; charges have a fifty-cent minimum. Share the free sample from your own site or newsletter and use EmbPay for the paid pack, or make the sample pay-what-you-want with a low floor and offer the full library as a one-click upsell.

What does it cost per sale?

The platform fee is 0% on every plan. Stripe bills its processing fee on your own account and nothing else is taken.
