Sell printable posters online digital prints and wall art, sized for the buyer's printer.
A printable poster is the digital product with the best margins in the category: no printing, no shipping, no stock, and a buyer who wants the file within the hour because the frame is already on the wall. The work is in the sizing. Buyers print at home, at a copy shop or through a print service, and they expect the file to fit whichever they choose.
Overview
EmbPay delivers a zip of sizes the moment the payment succeeds, from a checkout on your own site or a link in your Pinterest pin. Payment is by card into your own Stripe account, and there is no marketplace fee and no platform percentage on the sale.
How posters and printables are priced in practice.
Single printables commonly sell for a few dollars to the low tens; gallery-wall sets and large-format art files sell for more, and custom commissions well above that.
Sets outsell singles because buyers decorate a wall, not a nail. Make the single print the entry product, the matching pair an order bump, and the full gallery-wall set the one-click upsell after payment. A personalised version, with a name or a date, is a custom product delivered by instructions after the buyer sends you the details.
Pricing options that fit
- One-time — a print or a set.
- Order bump — the coordinating print on the checkout.
- Instructions delivery — a personalised print where you produce the file after the sale.
One product can carry up to six pricing options; the buyer chooses at checkout. Full detail in subscriptions, split-pay and pay-what-you-want.
Selling posters and printables with EmbPay takes three steps.
- 1
Create the product
In the dashboard, add a product with a name, description and price. Choose how it is delivered: upload a file, point to a hosted URL, issue a licence key, or show instructions after purchase.
- 2
Package your posters and printables
Export the piece in the common ratios and the largest size each supports, and zip them with a one-page printing guide. Buyers rarely know what ratio their frame is, so naming the files by frame size, not by ratio, cuts your support email in half. EmbPay hosts one file per product, up to 500 MB, which covers a full size set of a detailed print. A gallery-wall set of several pieces is a separate product with its own zip.
- 3
Share the link or embed the checkout
Every product has a hosted page you can link from anywhere, and an embed snippet for your own site. Connect your Stripe account and buyers can pay; until then the page says the product is not on sale yet.
The parts of EmbPay posters and printables sellers actually use.
Every item here is enforced in code, on the free plan unless it says otherwise.
Sell from a Pinterest pin
The hosted product page is a complete checkout at a shareable link. Pin it, post it, or embed it on your site; buyers pay by card without an account.
Sets as bumps and upsells
Up to five tick-box bumps on the checkout and a branching one-click upsell after payment. A bump can hide from buyers who already own it.
Instant delivery, expiring link
The size set is in the confirmation email under “Get your download”, on a link that lasts as long as you choose. The default is one day from purchase.
Coupons for seasonal sales
Percentage or fixed codes with a cap and an expiry date, so a holiday sale ends when you said it would.
What a sale costs you: Stripe's fee, and nothing else.
EmbPay platform fee
On every plan, including free. There is no per-sale percentage and no per-order charge anywhere in the payment path.
0%
Stripe processing
Billed by Stripe on your own account, as on any card payment. Usually 2.9% + 30¢ for a US domestic card; other countries differ.
Stripe's rate
Monthly
Free covers two products. Pro adds unlimited products, licence keys and API keys. Neither takes a cut.

Selling posters and printables: the questions we get.
Which sizes should I include?
The common frame ratios, 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, and the A-series for European buyers, each at 300 dpi. Name the files by the frame sizes they fit. EmbPay delivers whatever you zip; it does not resize files for you.
Can I sell personalised prints?
Yes, using the instructions-only delivery type. After payment the buyer sees your instructions, such as “reply to your receipt with the name and date”, and you send the finished file yourself.
Do buyers get the file straight away?
For a standard print, yes: the download link is sent by email the moment payment succeeds and is also in the buyer's customer hub.
Will EmbPay print and ship?
No. EmbPay sells the file. If you also offer a printed version, fulfil it yourself from the order details or sell it as a bump whose delivery text explains shipping.
What is the fee per print sold?
No platform fee on any plan. Stripe charges its own processing fee on your account. The free plan covers two products.
